This cue is solidly built and is very nice for breaking. I don't use it as a jump cue even though it can be broken down as such, so I can't comment on how it works for that application. The phenolic tip makes miscues easier if you don't break close to the center of the cue ball, so be aware, but such a hard tip is nice for breaking. That being said, once I set the tip up to my liking, it performed quite well for me.
I would not hesitate to buy this cue again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive break cue. So, why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, the quality of the wood and the overall fit and finish isn't as perfect as with more expensive cues, so I wouldn't say it was a perfect cue. I would, however, give it a 5/5 for value & price vs. performance. As long as your expectations are real then you should be quite happy with this cue.

Oh, I know that good breaks come from perfect aim and cue tip speed, and extra weight doesn't help with either of those. But I'm a senior citizen, and I have greater success with this cue than my 19-ounce breaking cue. I just concentrate on aiming and making a smooth, long and centered stroke, and-- if I do my part-- this cue gives me the added "umph" to spread and make balls.

My partner loves this cue. It looks great, but more importantly it feels and handles really well. I highly recommend this cue!

When I first got this I thought it would be to heavy. I usually search the pool hall for a 17 ounce cue, I always liked the fines of a lighter cue. Anyway this is 19 ounces and my game went well the other night. I was playing very well with it. It looks very nice and yet I am not afraid of someone walking off with it. I like it!

I have purchased hundreds of cues over the past several years, but I believe that this is only the second item I have ever reviewed, as it has surprised me tremendously. I take pool seriously, and I wanted to purchase a few house sticks for my home table that were not the typical level of play, since I get a fair range of players, who don't always bring their stick. So, I was willing to pay more for a few good sticks, but the details in the many 5-star reviews made me choose this and one other at a comparable price.
